The Al-Mughnī Inner Worth Audit

This audit is designed to help us transition from a beggar’s mindset into an enriched mindset. In clinical practice, we distinguish between self-esteem (often conditional and externally driven) and self-worth (inherent and internal). Rooted in the Name Al-Mughnī (The Enricher), this tool helps you identify where your inner treasury is already full, so you can stop seeking validation from sources that deplete you.

Resourcing your inherent dignity

“When inner value is resourced, seeking validation loses urgency.”

Step 1: The validation leak test

Sometimes we “beg” for worth from sources that cannot sustain us. Identify where you are currently looking for a payout of value.

  • Performance: “I am only valuable if my to-do list is finished.”

  • Perception: “I am only valuable if people think I am successful, holy, kind, or impressive.”

  • Proximity: “I am only valuable if Person X loves me or approves of me.”

  • Possession: “I am only valuable if I achieve a certain status, wealth level, or body goal.”

Step 2: Clinical contrast

Esteem versus worth

Understanding this distinction is the first step toward stability. Self-esteem can fluctuate like a bank account. Self-worth is like the gold in the vault. It does not change because of one good day or one hard day.

Step 3: The inner treasury inventory

Al-Mughnī has already enriched you with capital that cannot be taken away. List internal resources you possess that do not depend on external approval.

  • Inherent qualities: (capacity for compassion, resilience, curiosity)

  • Earned skills: (ability to listen, professional expertise, patience, follow-through)

  • Spiritual assets: (connection to Allah, sincere du‘ā, moments of repentance, restraint, istiqāmah)

Step 4: The enriched reframe

Choose one validation leak from Step 1 and apply the Al-Mughnī reframe.

  • The old script:
    “__________________________________________________________________________________________”

  • The reframe:
    “__________________________________________________________________________________________”

Example:
Old script: “I need my boss to praise my work to feel competent.”
Reframe: “I am competent because I have built my skills and I work with integrity. My value is already in the vault. Praise is a bonus, but it is not my source.”

Therapeutic insight

Restoring dignity

Enrichment restores dignity. When you stop begging for likes, compliments, recognition, or perfection, you reclaim your posture. You realise you are inherently valuable. You do not have to become worthy. You are already honoured by the One who created you. Now you live like it.

Du‘ā:
“O Al-Mughnī, enrich my heart so I do not beg from what depletes me.”
