In the splendor of Allah's creation, the love for magnificent beings like horses intertwines with the pursuit of good mental health and the practice of mindfulness. As stated in the Quran (3:14), 'Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land.' This verse illuminates the divine beauty inherent in the world around us.
During a recent family vacation to Almat farm, I captured a moment of profound connection with the majestic horses, creatures that embody both magnificence and stoicism. Subhanallah, witnessing their beauty brings me into awe of Allah's might, a reminder of His infinite wisdom and creative prowess.
Mindfulness, the art of being present in the moment, finds a serene companion in the graceful movements of these creatures. As I observed the horses, I marvelled at their ability to serve tirelessly without complaint, even in moments of fatigue. Their silent resilience echoes the teachings of mindfulness, urging us to navigate life's challenges with grace and composure.
In mounting a horse that had been carrying individuals around the farm for hours, I encountered a fascinating paradox. Despite its apparent weariness, the horse exuded energy and a playful spirit, reminding me of the Quranic verse (16:8), 'And [He created] the horses, mules, and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.'
The silent communication between rider and horse, the rhythmic harmony of their movements, becomes a profound lesson in mindfulness. In those moments, one witnesses the unspoken language of connection, where human and horse exist in harmony, each attuned to the other's needs.
Indeed, these exquisite creatures serve as a living testament to the multifaceted beauty of Allah's creation. By embracing the companionship of animals, especially the adorned horses mentioned in the Quran, we not only fulfill a divine love but also embark on a journey toward good mental health and enlightenment. May we continue to find solace and enlightenment in the intricate mosaic of Allah's magnificent creations.
